SUP YOGA
SUP Yoga (Stand Up Paddle) is a truly unique practice where a paddleboard becomes your yoga mat. Combine the health benefits of yoga with the chance to connect with the great outdoors.

The sessions themselves start on land, with a chance to get to know a little bit about the boards, terminology and how to use them.
I use boards specifically designed for paddleboard yoga, which means they are a little wider and higher than a regular board for more stability, but also have a bigger foam deck and less attachments, this becomes your yoga mat!
Here you will also learn how to adjust and hold your paddle as well as the basics to get you paddling over to the docking station.
As my classes take place in sheltered waters, there isn't much in the way of external dangers, but water is unpredictable so a safety briefing and how to fall and get back up is also covered!

Once acquainted with our boards we launch onto the water, of course I will be on hand every step of the way.
It's then a short paddle over to the docking station where I will hook everyone in.

Once settled at the floating studio, class can begin. Grounding ourselves into the space, taking in the ever changing environment around us. The beauty of doing (and teaching!) yoga outside is that no two classes are ever the same. We work our way through classic yoga poses, adapted to do on a board, as always each pose had different levels so everyone has somewhere to go. Test your balance and work your core, all while getting the therapeutic benefits of being in idyllic surroundings. Stretch out towards the end of class and finish with a dreamy floating Savasana.
If time allows, playtime offers you a chance to try something you learnt in class or maybe a more advanced pose (yes, I'm talking about headstands - totally optional!) Or perhaps you would rather have a gentle paddle around to take in the lake.
Sadly, after this it's time to paddle back, I will help you disembark your board onto dry land.
I take photos of all my classes, so that you guys can have a lasting memory of the experience (if you would prefer not to be in photos, let me know, and I will position you out of shot.)
